Vielen lieben Dank!

Why must goods be checked thoroughly after their delivery?
Goods must be checked thoroughly after their delivery, because they can be damaged or wrong items were delivered. Moreover you must control, if there is the right quantity and quality. -
What is the importance of up-dating stock records?
It’s important to keep the stock records up-to-date, so that the customers can be informed, if the company can deliver the goods immediately. Furthermore the firm should know, how many goods are on stock to order new goods, when there aren’t enough anymore. Moreover employees from every department can be informed, if there is place in the stock for new goods without controlling the stock. -
What is the difference between the purchasing and the sales market?
On the purchasing market the wholesalers make enquiries to different suppliers and manufacturer to find out the favourable price. The suppliers and manufacturer submit their offers with their terms of delivery, terms of payment, the prices and possible discounts. After a comparison of all offers the wholesaler places an order with the supplier or manufacturer, who offers the best purchase price.
On the sales market in contrast wholesalers submit offers to their customers, which are retailers and private consumers to make a profit. -
Name intermediaries of the wholesaler and describe their tasks.
The intermediaries of a wholesaler are banks and forwarding agents.
The most important one is the bank, because only with a bank by his side the flow of money can be secured. So the bank transfer the money both from the firm account of the wholesaler to the account of the supplier, if the firm must settle an invoice and to the firm account from the customers, when they pay their invoices. Furthermore the wholesaler needs a lot of money, e.g. to open a new subsidiary, to expand or to purchase a new product. So the wholesaler normally has to ask his bank for a loan. When he has enough securities, the bank will grant the loan.
Furthermore the forwarding agent is also important, because he transports the goods both from the wholesaler to his customers, e.g. retailers and private consumers and from the supplier or manufacturer to the wholesaler. -
Describe your career so far and your job now.
I left school in summer 2003 and started an apprenticeship as office communication clerk at “Deutsche Telekom”, which I finished in January 2006.
In February 2006 I started my job at the reception of Metro Cash and Carry International, where I still work. My main tasks are to welcome and to attend to visitors from all over the world, to operate the switchboard of the whole Metro Cash and Carry International and to reserve the conference rooms. Furthermore I work in the “Office Management”, where I prepare and effect video conferences. Additionally I undertake small tasks in the administrative area, when bigger meetings are planned, there’s no secretary available in the department or the secretary is ill. -
Describe your working conditions.
My regular weekly working time is 38.5 hours, excluding breaks. As the reception has to be busy from 7 to 7, I change the beginning time with my colleague, so I start 2 or 3 days a week at 7 a.m. and finish when I want and on the other days I start when I want and finish at 7 p.m.
Overtime can only be build up, it won’t be paid.
My annual holidays are 30 days.
The working atmosphere is very nice. My direct colleague is very friendly and also the other girl, who is working in Office Management too but not at the reception is very kind. We are a really good team. My boss, Michaela, is also ok. Sometimes she is in a bad mood, but happily it isn’t so often. Otherwise I get along with her.
