Ich suche eine Art Reisefuehrer ueber Kultstaetten in Schottland und Nordengland. Ich denke da an mystische Plaetze wie Stonhenge (ich weiss, das liegt nicht in Schottland), habe fuer Deutschland mal ein derartiges Buch gesehen. Es kann auch ein englisches Buch sein.
Oder habt Ihr selbst Erfahrungen, was man sich ansehen sollte?

einen speziellen kultstätten-reiseführer weiss ich zwar nicht, aber ich kann dir mal ein paar zitate aus einem schottlandführer aufschreiben:
1: (bezieht sich auf elgin, nord-osten, nächste grössere stadt aberdeen)
"forres, near elgin, has been linked with witchcraft for centuries, and the "blasted heath" where the witches met macbeth is just outside the town. whatever the origin of this tale, it´s certain that three witches were put to death for casting spells on king duncan. they were rolled downhill in spiked barrels before being burned - there´s a stone commemorating the event outside the town. if you see it, have a look also at sueno´s stone not far away. it´s a mystery to archaeologists, over 20 feet (6 m) high and decorated with carvings of chariots, decapitated bodies and captives. the curious thing is that there is no historical record of the battle which it obviously describes."

"another sight not to be missed is the famous standing stones of callanish. this great stone circle, with avenues radiating from it, is one of the best preserved sites in europe. it is nearly 400 feet ( 120 m) from end to end."
3. (caithness, orkney, ganz oben im norden)
"caithness is filled with relicts dating back to the stone age, 5000 years ago. the grey cairns of camster are from this period. they are impressively large stone tombs (which you can enter), the largest being 200 feet (60 m) long. building it is thought to have meant moving about 3000 tonnes of stone. rather younger is the bronze age "hill o´many stanes". this consists of long rows of standing stones aligned roughly north-south. there´s a theory that it formed a kind of calendar, as stonehenge is said to have done."
