   3000 BC Abacus originated in the Tigrus-3000 vor Christus - Abacus originated in the Tigrus-Euphrates Valley Euphrates Valley
   
   1642-1644 Blaise Pascal developed mechanical device for addition and subtraction.
   
   1673 Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz surpassed Pascal's machine with one which could also multiply and divide.
   
   1820's Charles Babbage attempted to develop a mechanical Difference Engine which worked partially but was never completed. He also attempted an Analytical Engine. Lady Ada Lovelace was his sponsor and probably the first programmer.

   Der älteste programmierbare Rechner war der Z1 und wurde 1938 von Konrad Zuse fertiggestellt.
