Hallo, ich möchte Windows7 als 64bit-Version testen.
Ich habe bereits Qemu samt Qemu manager, doch leider stürzt diese ab :frowning:
Hab mir von Microsoft VirtualPC2007 geladen. Leider hat diese Software keine 64bit-Unterstützung :frowning:

Kennt ihr also irgendeine Freeware, mit der ich das mal testen kann?

Grundvoraussetzung ist, dass das Betriebssystem, auf der die Virtuelle Mascchine mit 64Bit laufen soll, auch ein 64 Bit BS ist. Man kann keine VM mit 64 Bit auf ein 32Bit System laufen lassen.

VMWARE Workstation wäre eine gute Lösung
oder mit der kostenlosen VirtualBox von SUN

Das ist nur zur Hälfte richtig. Einen 64-Bit Gast kann man in der Tat nicht auf einem 32-Bit SYSTEM laufen lassen, sehr wohl aber auf einem 32-bit BETRIEBSSYSTEM. Die CPU muss halt stimmen (64bit und VT), nicht das OS.

Ich zitiere einfach mal die Anleitung zur Virtual Box, die Hervorhebung ist von mir:
_Starting with version 2.0, VirtualBox supports 64-bit guest operating systems. Starting with version 2.1, you can even run 64-bit guests on a 32-bit host operating system. The hardware prerequisites are identical for both cases.
In particular, 64-bit guests are supported under the following conditions:

  1. You need a 64-bit processor with hardware virtualization support (see chapter 3.4.3, “Acceleration” tab: hardware vs. software virtualization, page 49).
  2. You must enable hardware virtualization for the particular VM for which you want 64-bit support; software virtualization is not supported for 64-bit VMs.
  3. If you want to use 64-bit guest support on a 32-bit host operating system, youmust also select a 64-bit operating system for the particular VM. Since supporting 64 bits on 32-bit hosts incurs additional overhead, VirtualBox only enables this support upon explicit request._

VMWare Server, siehe http://www.vmware.com/de/products/server/features.html ist kostenlos (ebenso wie der ESXi Server) und es gibt schon viele fertige Appliances in der Marketplace.
