Wann sagt man "each other" und wann "one another"? Im englischen Sprachraum wird da nicht viel Unterschied gemacht, aber es ist doch sicher einer?

Hallo,
also, meine Frau sagt (sie ist Amerikanerin, Abitur in English und History) folgendes:
- "one another" impersonal
- "each other" personal
Also:
Wenn sich zwei Menschen miteinamder unterhalten, dann "each other".
Wenn zwei Computer miteinander kommunizieren, dann "one another".
Aber wie Du schon sagst wird da im normalen Sprachgebrauch kein Unterschied gemacht. Deshalb war sie sich da auch nicht 100% sicher.

"each other" and "one another":
Each other is properly used in referring to two persons or things, as in, "The boy and the dog love each other."
One another is properly used in referring to more than two, as in, "The three salesmen vied with one another for first place."

Ich sah dies einmal in einem Grammatikbuch, konnte mich aber nicht mehr erinnern wie es richtig war, da man es ja so oft falsch angewendet sieht. Nicht umsonst sagen manche Englischsprecher, dass man einen Auslaender daran erkennt, dass sein English grammatisch zu korrekt ist!
