Dabbling duck / Diving duck:
«Dabbling ducks» are a group of ducks which ordinarily feed in shallow water by submerging most of their body, leaving their tail sticking straight up above the water. They also feed on land. «Diving ducks» are excellent swimmers and feed by diving. Compared to dabbling ducks, the legs of diving ducks are set farther back on their body and they need a running start along the surface of the water before rising into the air, while the dabblers take flight by springing directly up from the water.
