vielleicht könnt Ihr mir weiterhelfen:
Worum geht es bei dem Songtext zu „a whiter shade of pale“? Ich versteh nur Bahnhof, mal abgesehen davon, dass eine Lady ein wenig blasser zu werden scheint.

In der Hoffnung, dass ich alles richtig verstanden habe, schreibe ich Dir den Text mal auf:
We skipped a light fandango

The room was humming harder

The waiter brought a tray
And so it was that later
As the miller told this tale
That her face at first just ghostly

But I wandered through my playing cards
I Would not let her be
One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
At the moment my eyes were open
They might just as well have been closed
And so it was that later

ich würde den Text mal auf den Genuss von gewissen Kräutern oder chemikalien zurückführen - wie bei vielen 60´s Bands…
Wieviel Sinngehalt hat „I´m the walrus“ oder „In-a-gadda-da-vida“? Wir werden es wohl nie erfahren…

besser erst gar nicht.
Stimmt, klingt alles ziemlich merkwürdig. Was mir aber dabei einfällt- gibt es nicht von Chaucer in den „Canterbury Tales“ einen Abschnitt „Miller’s Tale“? Vielleicht weiss jemand mehr und kann endlich das Geheimnis um diesen Text lüften?
