hallo
ich suche ein lied, in dem ein mann über seinen verstorbenen vater und sein verhältnis zu ihm singt. eine zeile geht in etwa so: i was not there this morning, as my father passed away. das lied ist schon einige jahre alt und ich glaube es ist von einer band.

Mike & The Mechanics stimmt, Titel weiss ich nicht, aber es gibt ein Lied von denen, das zumindest die Zeile („in the living years“) enthaelt - ich weiss aber leider nicht mehr ob es das selbe ist.

Jetzt wars mir zu doof. Also, alle Infos sind korrekt, und hier sind die Lyrics, wenns jemanden interessiert:

Yep,
meine Vorschreiber haben recht. Das Lied „The Living Years“ ist 1988 auf dem zweiten, gleichnamigen Album von Mike & The Mechanics erschienen. Das ist auch die Version, die ab und an noch im Radio läuft. Es kann aber sein, daß der Leadsänger Paul Carrack noch eine andere Version aufgenommen hat.
