Geschichte statt Englischarbeit

Hallo,
ich schreibe eine Kurzgeschichte anstelle einer Englischarbeit. Diese Geschichte macht dann ein Drittel meine Zeugnissnote aus. Leider fehlen mir häufig Redewendungen, ohne die ist meine Geschihte leer und langweilig. Wäre vllt jemand bereit, sich ba und zu einen Abschnitt anzusehen und mit zu verbessern? Würde mich sehr freuen, da mein Englischlehrer jeden noch so kleinen Fehler bemerken wird.

Hier der Erste Abschnitt:

My advice: hit the books.

Verzichte in geschriebenem Text, der keine woertliche Rede wiedergibt, auf Kurzformen wie „wasn’t“ etc. Und „all right“ schreibt man fuer gewoehnlich zusammen als „alright“.

Zweiter Teil:

The cell phone rang and I went back into my office. I picked up the phone. „Hello, this is Detectiv McGill speaking. Who am I talking to?“ „My name is James Norrington. I have got
a job for you. I’ll pay good!“ The caller had a very foul and cold voice.

Ist das soweit in Ordnung?

Den anderen Textabschnitt habe ich bereits überarbeitet!

Hi Leon,

ich wuerde das „who am I talking to“ weglassen, da sich so keiner am Telefon meldet. Entweder „this is xxxx“ (eher amerikanisch) oder „xxx speaking“ (eher britisch), aber nicht „this is xxxx speaking“.

Es heisst richtig „I pay well“.

„Foul voice“ hoert sich seltsam an.

something wasn’t quite right (alright/all right kann in diesem Kontext nicht benutzt werden)
And I would find out soon what that was/what was wrong.
