Hallo,
kennt irgendjemand den Ursprung des Liedes „So long“ gesungen von Lonnie Donegan in einem Medley (Lonnie’s Skiffle Party, Part 2 auf der CD The Singles Anthology 1955 - 1967, CD 1)? Ich nehme an, dass es ein Traditional ist aber ich weiß nicht, wo ich den kompletten Text suchen könnte. Wenn ich einen Interpreten wüsste, der das Lied in voller Länge singt, könnte ich ja evtl. etwas finden.
Wer kann mir weiterhelfen?

Lonnie Donegan hat ne Menge von Woody Guthrie (das ist der Herr von this land is your land, this land is my land…) gemacht.
Sollte das so sein wäre dies der richtige Text. Ansonsten findet sich der Urheber in der Regel im Booklet der CD.

herzlichen Dank für die prompte Hilfe. Ich werde jetzt mal in meinen CDs wühlen, ob ich diesen Song von Woodie Guthrie habe - ich denke aber schon. Der Refrain stimmt auf jeden Fall. Habe gerade noch die Skiffle Party von Lonnie Donegan gehört, da ich die selbst zusammengestellten CDs für die nächste Feier testen muss. Kürzlich hatte ich einen „fatal error“: plötzlich sang ein Jägerchor mitten in die Skifflemusik hinein. Äußerst seltsam! Als hätte sich eine Automatik eingeschaltet, die die CD aus- und das Radio eingeschaltet hat. Dennoch habe ich keinen derartigen Sender programmiert. Nun ja, ich werde den Fehler möglicherweise noch finden.

Es gibt eine ganze Reihe von Cover-Versionen.
Und auch Woodie hat mehrere Fassungen geschrieben/ gesungen.

Da hilft tatsächlich nur ein zwei Zeilen raushören (aus dem Lonnie-Song, wenns diese Version sein soll) und google anschmeißen.
