Die ursprüngliche Aussage von William Jennings Bryan lautet anders, ich möchte sie aber so abändern, kann mir jemand sagen, ob das grammatikalisch richtig ist?

So würde ich es zumindest schreiben

Wie Sarah es geschrieben hat is eigentlich passender. Die Verwendung von „isn’t“ statt „is not“ klingt nach Umgangssprache, irgendwie billiger. Das Gleiche gilt für Bindestriche.
Queen Victoria hätte bestimmt nicht gesagt:
„We aren’t amused“
und Will S. hätte bestimmt auch nicht
„To be, or not to be - that’s the question“
geschrieben.
See what I mean?

(also mit Komma in der Mitte)

Ich habs auch nur abgekürzt, weils schneller zu schreiben geht.
Es klingt schon besser wenn Du es ausspricht, da hast Du schon Recht.
Ist mir gerade aufgefallen, dass ich vorher „also“ vergessen hatte.
Wenn man „not only“ verwendet, gehört „also“ dazu, also:
Destiny is not only a matter of chance, it is also a matter of choice
d.h. wie Sarah es geschrieben hat, nur mit Komma.
Alternativ:
Destiny is not only a matter of chance, but also of choice
