Da ich ein Ausländer bin, möchte ich wissen, ob den folgenden Satz korrekt ist.
Mein Sohn Adrian wohnt zu Hause.
Meine Frage geht um die Apposition und Kommastellung.

dein Satz ist richtig, aber es kommt drauf an, was du mit diesem Satz ausdrücken willst, denn
a) wenn du schreibst: „Mein Sohn Adrian wohnt (noch) zu Hause.“ -> dann bedeutet das, dass Adrian der einzige Sohn sein kann oder aber er könnte auch ein Sohn unter mehreren sein, das heißt Adrian hat noch einen Bruder oder mehrere Brüder (Adrian can be the only son there is or might be also another one or two …)
b) wenn du schreibst: „Mein Sohn, Adrian, wohnt (noch) zu Hause.“ -> dann bedeutet das, dass Adrian der einzige Sohn ist, es gibt also keinen anderen Sohn, das heißt Adrian hat keinen Bruder (Adrian is the only son, i.e. no brother)
c) Andere Möglichkeit wäre: „Adrian, mein Sohn, wohnt (noch) zu Hause.“ (with sentence c you can not make any mistake, use first the name and then additional information to the person)
Anyway, your above mentioned sentence is grammatically correct. It depends on what you want to say.
A German native speaker would not say a sentence like that, because it is common sence that children live at home. But if you want to say, that a child has become an adult and still lives at home, a native speaker would use the word „noch“ to express that he/she still lives at home.
