das Stück heißt „Perpetual Movement“ von Poulenc.

Music once again becomes part of the plot in a Hitchcock film, with the playing of Poulenc’s “Perpetual Movement” piano piece, by David, who plays only this piece while he is fencing questions from Rupert, I might add that I never saw anything in his technique worthy of displaying publicly, but it is well done , indeed critical to the plot. The original music was attributed to David Buttolph, who composed for more than 187 films, but never garnered a single award, and Leo Forbstein, credited with pioneering synchronized music to silent films many many years ago.
