Das Board eine Grafik Onboard-
Ich möchte aber eine PCI-Grafikkarte installieren.
Ins BIOS gelangt man nur über ein Setup-Programm mit Hilfe von einem von Disketten gebooteten System.
Auch möchte ich eine zweite Festplatte einbauen.
Die USB-Ports sind auch nicht aktiv.
Was kann ich /muss ich machen um die Grafik abzuschalten um ne PCI-Grafikkarte zu nutzen?
Was muss ich tun um die beiden IDE-Anschlüsse mit Geräten zu bestücken und dann über die Master/Slave Config diese auch nutzen zu können?
Ich habe testhalber einmal im Setup-menü die Grafik „disabled“ aber dann hatte ich nach Einbau der PCI-Grafik überhaupt kein Bild - auch keines mehr nach ausbau der Grafikkarte.
Erst ein CMOS-Clearing brachte mir wieder ein Bild über die OnboardGrafik.
Ich hoffe ich finde hier jemand der mir helfen kann.
Ich weis die Angelegenheit ist etwas konplex.

Das solltest Du über das Setup-Utility regeln können.

Normalerweise nichts ausser den Master auf Master zu Jumpern und den Slave auf Slave (am Laufwerk) - manche Platten von Compaq stehen aber eher auf die Einstellung „cable select“.
Cable Select
The Compaq Deskpro 2000 Series of Personal Computers use cable-select technology for identifying Device 0 (primary) and Device 1 (secondary) IDE/EIDE hard drives. Check that the jumpers on the IDE/EIDE hard drives are set properly for cable-select installation. Always check the label on the drives or check Chapter 7 of this manual when a new drive is added to verify that the jumper settings are set correctly.
· Cable select may not function properly if drives other than those supported by Compaq are installed.
· The second drive on a cable-select cable can be a CD-ROM drive. However, the CD-ROM drive must be installed in the device 1 position if a hard drive is installed on the same cable. Ensure that both drives are set for cable-select configuration. See Chapter 7 for more information.
· If two drives are already connected to the primary IDE/EIDE controller and an additional drive is to be installed, the secondary IDE/EIDE controller must be enabled. The secondary IDE/EIDE controller can be enabled by checking this option after opening the Advanced box in the Mass Storage group of F10 Computer Setup. See Chapter 2 for more information.
· When more than two drives are installed, drive performances are best when the two faster drives are connected to the primary IDE/EIDE controller and the slower drive is connected to the secondary IDE/EIDE controller.
· A hard drive is installed and configured more quickly when the jumpers have been configured first.
· If the new drive includes the cable-select feature, no jumper setting changes are required. Refer to the documentation supplied with the drive for instructions on using the cable select feature. If you install a third-party hard drive, you will need to purchase a jumper cable (spare part number 247568-001) from Compaq Computer Corporation.

Im Handbuch steht leider auch nichts darüber. Hast Du schon einmal die PCI-Grafikkarte einfach in das System gesteckt und einen Monitor angeschlossen. Einen Jumper gibt es jedenfalls nicht.

Hallo,
Im Setup Utility kann ich keinen Hinweis auf die USB-Ports finden, somit auch nicht zum Einstellen.
Den Weg -einfach eine Grafikkarte einbauen- habe ich schon ausprobiert, nur da tut sich nichts. Es bleibt die OnBoardGrafik als aktive Karte.
Der Hinweis für den CS werde ich gleich ausprobieren.

Es gibt noch ein Problem, welches ich auch schon im Bereich FestnetzTelefonie angesprochen habe.
Ich habe eine Elsa MicrolinkPCFpro ISDN-Karte eingebaut.
Win 2000 erkennt si nicht im Gerätemanager… außer wenn ich die Ausgeblendeten Geräte anzeigen lasse - da ist sie als NichtPlugnPlay-Geräte aufgeführt. Ein in der Systemsteuereung installiertes ELSA-ISDNtool kann die Karte einwandfrei testen. Nur kann ich keine DFÜ-Verbindung einrichten - das Geräte wird mir nicht als Auswahl angeboten.
Ich weiss es gibt keine aktuellen Treiber für diese Karte -da Elsa pleite- habe stattdesssen die WinNt-Treiber installiert.
Danach habe ich die Funktion wie zuvor beschrieben.
Gibts hier noch eine Idee zur Lösung?
