Hallo, eine dringende Frage, die vielleicht etwas banal klingt, aber wie lautet die Mehrzahl des Wortes „Status“?!?
Für eine schnelle Antwort wäre ich sehr dankbar, denn der Text muß heute noch raus!

Mein Langenscheidt Fremdwörterbuch sagt:
Status, der /kMz; was ich nur mit keine Mehrzahl deuten kann…
Wie war das noch im Lateinischen? status, -us (mit langem u) Dann müsste der lateinische Plural wohl status (mit langem u) sein.

Yeah, I guess - maybe. But it sounds clumsy. I think that most writers would avoid the construction. e.g., instead of
„There were different statuses of profitability represented in the past five years of the company’s financials.“
I would write: „The status of the company’s profitability varied during each of the past five years.“
Of course even that is clumsy. Perhaps better yet: „The company’s profitability varied over the past five years.“
Were I you, I would avoid ever using „statuses.“ It is hard to imagine a sentence in which it would not sound clumsy. And don’t even think of „stati.“
