Kann mir jemand kurz die o.a. Übersetzungen für das deutsche „allein“ erklären? Wann sagt man „alone“, wann „by myself“ und wann „on my own“?

laut OALD sind sie relativ gleichbedeutend, aber alone ist eher gehoben (sie werden alle 3 von lonely/lone abgegrenzt):
Alone, and on your own/by yourself (which are less formal and are the normal phrases used in spoken English), describe a person or thing that is separate from others. They do not mean that the person is unhappy: I like being alone in the house. ◇ I’m going to London by myself next week. ◇ I want to finish this on my own (= without anyone’s help).
Entsprechend sind die Definitionen dort sehr ähnlich:
alone: 1 without any other people 2 without the help of others 3 lonely and unhappy or without any friends
Definition on your own:
1 alone; without anyone else 2 without help
Def. by yourself/yourselves:
1 alone; without anyone else 2 without help
Vielleicht jemand anderes noch feinere Nuancen.

ich würde es mit einem Beispiel so erklären:
„I am alone at home“ - „Ich bin alleine zu Hause“ als Person, die sich zu Hause alleine aufhält.
„I am on my own at home“ - „Ich bin zu Hause auf mich selbst gestellt“. Könnte zum Beispiel der Haushalt gemeint sein. Jemand ist zwar mit mehreren Personen zu Hause, bleibt aber auf sich selbst gestellt. Kommt auf den Zusammenhang an.
oder
„I am running a business on my own“ - „Ich bin selbständig“ (beruflich).
Es gibt natürlich unzählige Beispiele und Formulierung, je nach Zusammenhang.

Danke, das ist ja schon mal was. Leider fehlen Beispiele für „by oneself“, was mich besonders interessiert, da ich schon oft festgestellt habe, dass ich einen Satz mit „alone“ formuliert habe und mich Muttersprachler dann diskret korrigierten, indem sie in der Antwort „by yourself“ verwendeten. Aber bisher konnte ich daraus leider keine allgemeine Regel ableiten.

stimmt, dafür habe ich kein Beispiel angegeben.
Vielleicht bringt das hier etwas mehr Klarheit. Würde dich jetzt ein Muttersprachler anrufen, dann könnte dein Gespräch folgendermaßen ablaufen:
A: Hello, where are you?
B: Hi, I’m alone at home.
A: Would you like to come to my place and have a drink?
B: Yes, of course, but I can’t drink too much, because I will have to drive by my own.
A: Oh, where’s your boyfriend/girlfriend?
B: He/she went to go bowling on his/her own.
A: Really? He/she went bowling without you? He/she left you alone?
B: Yes, indeed. He/she left me by myself with all the dishes to do.
