[en] noch so ein Satz

Hallo!

Satz:
While they were important breakthroughs, it is not the technologies discovered in Silicon Valley that distinguish it from other industry clusters.

Was ich sagen will:
Ja, die Innovationen waren schon wichtig, aber sie sind nicht wirklich das wesentliche, das Silicon Valley von anderen „Clusters“ unterscheidet.

Kontext:

„While they were important breakthroughs, it is not the technologies discovered in Silicon Valley that distinguish it from other industry clusters. In Silicon Valley, the focus has always been on developing a new technology and then finding ways to market the product – “innovation … means invention implemented” (Lee, Miller, Hancock & Rowen, 2003, p. 21; Seely-Brown, 2000, p. x). Being a “perpetual innovation machine” appears to be Silicon Valley’s mission, enabled by its entrepreneurial culture that encourages risk-taking and offers excellent networking opportunities“

Liebe Grüße, und danke,

Dennis

Hallo Dennis,

ich will’s mal versuchen …

Satz:
While they were important breakthroughs, it is not the
technologies discovered in Silicon Valley that distinguish it
from other industry clusters.

Although the technologies discovered in the Silicon Valley were very important, they were not the crucial point which deviates the Silicon Valley from other industry clusters.

Trifft es das etwa?
Gruesse Henning.

Hi Henning!

Danke für Deine Antwort!

While they were important breakthroughs, it is not the
technologies discovered in Silicon Valley that distinguish it
from other industry clusters.

Although the technologies discovered in the Silicon Valley
were very important, they were not the crucial point which
deviates the Silicon Valley from other industry clusters.

Wie wär’s mit

Although the technologies developed in Silicon Valley were important breakthroughs, they are not the crucial point that distinguishes the Valley from other industry clusters.

Viele Grüße, und nochmal danke,

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

Wie wär’s mit

Although the technologies developed in Silicon Valley were
important breakthroughs, they are not the crucial point that
distinguishes the Valley from other industry clusters.

Mir gefaellt nur das Verb „distinguish“ nicht, da Du es intransitiv benutzt (heisst dann soviel wie „sich auszeichnen“). Die Bedeutung „etw unterscheiden“ ist transitiv. Du meinst eher „to differ from“ oder „to deviate from“ „to be different from“ etc.

Gruss Henning.
