Wer kann mir die Begriffe lot area und plan area sinnvoll ins Deutsche übersezten?
Beispiel: These are the ratio of the frontal area of the obstacles to the lot area of the obstacles (hier kommt ne Formel) and the ratio of the plan area of the obstacles to the lot area, (nochmals ne Formel).

front area = vorderseite
plan area = planfläche
lotfläche gibt es nicht wirklich. im grunde scheint es einfach eine fläche zu sein, die orthogonal(senkrecht) zu einer anderen fläche ist. zu einer fläche gibt es im 3-d-raum IMMER unendlich viele orthogonale flächen - jedoch IMMER nur 1 orthogonale. die orthogonale ist die gerade, die senkrecht wie ein lot auf etwas steht.

„lot area“ klingt für mich nach „Grundstücksfläche“, ob das im Zusammenhang Sinn ergibt, weisst nur Du. Worum geht es denn bei diesen Berechnungen?

es handelt sich um zwei horizontale flächen. die eine fläche ist die „gesamtfläche“ und die andere nur ein teil dieser gesamtfläche.
ich nehme an, dass lot area die gesamtfläche ist, plan area nur ein teil davon. bin mir aber eben nicht sicher. könnte irgendwie auch umgekehrt sein…

Umgekehrt wohl nicht, aber etwas anders könnte es vielleicht sein. Ob und wie anders kann ich Dir aber nicht erklären, solange ich nicht verstanden habe, worum es geht.
Ich kann leider nicht garantieren, daß ich Dir helfen kann, wenn Du ausreichend Kontext nachlieferst, aber ich bin mir sicher, ohne weiteren Kontext wird Dir niemand helfen können.

ich habe eine andere quelle gefunden, welche meine annahme anhand einer zeichnung bestätigt hat. ich bin somit zufrieden. da die wörter anscheinend so nicht direkt übersetzbar sind, genügt mir die bedeutung.
