Englisch Übersetzung

Hallo Leute,

Presentation about Stallwang

Today I will give you a presentation about my native village Stallwang.

Where the becks of the Kinsach are unified, approximately between the two towns Straubing and Cham, on the very old street alongside the Danube towards Böhmen, my native village Stallwang with the districts Landorf, Schönstein and Wetzelsberg is located.

The counts of Bogen colonised Stallwang in the 8th and 9th century.

Stallwang has a special reference to the post: Already in the early 18th century postmen with their horses rode on the street between Stallwang and Cham and in the year 1756 a post station was established. The post horn on the emblem of our community indicates, that there is a historical reference to the post. Regardless of this tradition, the post station was closed.

Now I will tell you some facts and figures about Stallwang:

  • Federal state is Bayern, district Niederbayern
  • Administrative district is Straubing-Bogen
  • Population figure is 1427
  • Area: 2058 hectare
  • Districts of Stallwang: Landorf, Schönstein, Wetzelsberg
  • Transport connection: motorway A3, federal highway B20, slip road Stallwang

Mayors:

  • 1st mayor: Alfons Wolf, Utzmannsdorf
  • 2nd mayor: Josef Laumer, Stallwang (also 2nd regional administrator)
  • Mayor Karlheinz Oswald, Stallwang

Clubs and societies:

In Stallwang there are many associations and clubs. There is for example the „Auxiliary Fire Brigade“, a companionship of warrier and servicemen (in German: Krieger- und Soldatenkameradschaft) with only demonstrative and patriotic character, the catholic rural youth club, the Red-Cross-Group, TSV Stallwang (a sport club, where I am a member myself), the gun club and the „Fruit and Gardening Club“. This was just a little variety of the clubs in Stallwang.

The emblem
The deer antler was the root emblem of the barons of Poissl-Loifling, which was absorbed by the commune Stallwang in the 19th century.
The post horn referenced to the old post station in Stallwang, established by the Princely House of Thurn and Taxis, a German family that was a key player in the postal services in Europe in the 16th century. Because of opening this post station, the very important road towards Bohemia was erected.

Well, this was my presentation about Stallwang. I hope, you enjoyed it! If there are any questions, please ask me now!

Wär’ echt nett von euch, wenn ihr mal nen Blick drüberwerfen könnt. VIELEN DANK!
