Hallo zusammen,

ich bin gezwungen, deutsche Weihnachtsgrüße zu übersetzen. Dabei herausgekommen ist folgendes:

A strenuous, albeit a successful year is about to end.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the solidarity shown, for your support and the faithful cooperation.
On the threshold to Christmas my very best wishes to you and your family. May the Christmas season bring you time for contemplativeness, time to enjoy the fruits for the year’s work and to regain your strength for the New Year.

Das deutsche Original ist noch etwas nüchterner, die loved ones habe ich hinzugefügt, um es im Englischen etwas gefälliger zu machen. Der nüchterne Stil entspricht zwar der Persönlichkeit des Senders und den Umstände, ich finde allerdings, dass im Englischen die Grüße meist etwas emotionaler ausfallen (oder ist das ein Vorurteil?).

Ich bin für jede Anregung dankbar!

Wäre schön wenn du das Original posten könntest, trotzdem:

Nicht:

the fruits for the year’s work

Sondern:

the fruits of the year’s work

Hallo Ramona,

ich habe mir die Freiheit genommen, deinen Text etwas zu verbessern. Übrigens, noch etwas woran du denken solltest: Du kannst nicht automatisch davon ausgehen, dass in den USA jeder Weihnachten feiert! Ein neutrales „happy holidays“ wäre daher besser. Sonst ist dir vielleicht echt noch jemand beleidigt.

Ok, perfekt ist meine „Weihnachtskarte“ nicht - vielleicht verbessert ja noch jemand mit? - aber ich muss dann weg.

na gut, ein bißchen TexT. habe einiges umgesetzt und bin jetzt ganz zufrieden. Die Grüße gehen übrigens nicht in die USA.
