Bei folgendem Satz,

I went out with my girlfriend last night

soll ich nach: my girlfriend fragen

Heisst das nun:

1. With who did you go out last night?

oder

2. Who did you go out with last night ?

Fast, With who m did you go out last night

oder

wieder fast

2. Who m did you go out with last night ?

Allerdings wird das m umgangssprachlich meistens weggelassen.

erstmal das, was Ralph schon schrieb:
with whom

und das „Splitten“ von Verb+Präposition

2. Whom did you go out with last night ?

ist unschön und sollte vermieden werden.

ähhh, sorry, da wird aber doch nix gesplittet? Bzw. nicht mehr als im ersten Satz („With whom…“).
Oder beziehst Du dich auf das gute alte Churchill(?)-Zitat „A preposition is a bad word to end a sentence with“?
