Sicher ist duct tape eine Art Klebeband, aber was für eins ? Es gibt schließlich zahllose Sorten von Klebeband, viele davon mit eigenen Fachbegriff im Deutschen.

Demnach wäre duct tape ein mit Polyethylen laminiertes Gewebeklebeband mit Naturkautschuk in der Klebemasse.

In unserem Haushalt nennen wir es „Serienkiller-Klebeband“, weil das Zeug in jeder amerikanischen Krimiserie (Profiler, CSI usw.) von den Mördern zum Fesseln und Knebeln der Opfer verwendet wird.

ich kenne es als „gaffer’s tape“, diese Site hier http://www.octanecreative.com/ducttape/duckvsduct.html belehrt mich jedoch, dass dies eine spezielle Art von duct tape ist.
Im Deutschen läuft es auch gerne als Gewebeband, so auch bei Tesa: http://www.tesa.de/professional/industry/application…

isolierband. stark klebendes zeug aus festem plastik. typischerweise von 3M (das silberne). hast wohl noch nie macgyver geschaut
