ich habe schon mehrfach vergeblich versucht, Corel Linux von der Gamestar-CD auf meinem Rechner zu installieren. (celeron333, 128mb, 10GB, matrox milleniumII, dvd). bin strikt nach anleitung vorgegangen, habe eine bootdiskette erstellt und ca. 900mb (von 2gig) auf c:\ freigeräumt. (auf diesem laufwerk befindet sich bei mir win95, laut anleitung soll das aber kein problem darstellen…)
nach dem booten von diskette laufen zwar einige sachen ab, aber dann (ich glaube während der hardware-erkennung!?) schmeißt mir der rechner plötzlich die cd-rom aus und
bootet neu…!
die installation hat aber nicht funktioniert, zumindest wurde nichts neues auf c:\ angelegt…
weiß jemand rat…?

Bist Du sicher, dass Du die Anleitung gelesen hast? Linux laeuft normalerweise keinesfalls auf einem Win-Dateisystem. Das braucht sein eigenes (ist auch gut so). Daher brauchst Du eigentlich mindestens eine eigene Partition, um Linux zu installieren.
Oder laeuft Corel-Linux jetzt auch als Aufsatz auf Windoof? Kann ich mir eigentlich nicht vorstellen.
Daher wirst Du unter „C:“ niemals etwas finden. Hast Du denn auch den Lilo Bootmanager korrekt installiert? Alternativ kannst Du auch eine Boot-Diskette anfertigen. Das macht aber nicht so viel Spass, weil das booten dann ewig dauert.

This could be caused by a couple of factors. Make sure that the video card is one of the supported
video adapters on the Hardware Compatibility list at
http://linux.corel.com/products/linux_os/hardware.htm . It can also be caused by UDMA66 (ultra66)
hard drive controllers which are not directly supported by kernel 2.2.x . They will be supported by
kernel 2.4.
This will also happen if the video card is on the supported hardware list for XFree86 3.3.5 but is not
supported by the XFree86 SVGA or VGA16 servers. This is because the graphical installation
routine in Corel Linux only uses these two servers to function. It does not work with any other
XFree86 server. As a result, Corel Linux will fail to install and there is no known workaround. This
will be rectified in a future release.This could be caused by a couple of factors. Make sure that the
