Leider weiß ich nicht, ob es eine Übersetzung oder ein frei formulierter Text ist. Ich hab mal ein paar Passagen geändert und auch nochmal das Word-Rechtschreibprogramm drüber laufen lassen. Bei Übersetzungen ist auch die Webseite leo.org hilfreich.
Mit dem „had to give away“ bin ich nicht so ganz glücklich, da es eher „ich musste (etwas/jemandem) verraten“ bedeutet, leider weiss ich z.Zt. keine optimale Formulierung…

Mach ruhig häufiger einen Punkt. Im Englischen sind die die Sätze meist kürzer.

The next day Martin and James WERE WASHING the plates when they heard a loud laugh. „So, haha boys. You GOT what you deserve!“
