Korrekturlesen (Englisch)

Hallo Experten,

folgend eine bescheidene Text-Analyse, die bestimmt noch den ein oder anderen Grammatikfehler oder zumindest Ungereimtheiten in sich birgt. Es wäre schön wenn jemand diese Fehler finden würden!

  1. Mr Whitson has a very special teaching method: He invents unrealistic animals that never actually existed and according to him had been wiped out. One such animal he made up is the “cattywampus”. He explained his pupils whilst he was passing around the animal’s skull, that no trace of the animal remained. The pupils of Mr. Whitson’s science course took notes and afterwards took a quiz. All the pupils in the class failed, because they wrote things about an animal which never existed. Mr Whitson’s aim was to educate sceptical pupils.

  2. Mr. Whitson’s method might appear unfair, but it is an efficient way to show young people, that nobody is infallible and that even a teacher can be wrong. The pupils developed skills, which could be useful in life. There is also another advantage in this method: By letting his pupils fail, Mr. Whitson can be sure that they will not forget this lesson of scepticism. As a conclusion one can say, that this method is much better, more “interactive” than telling to the pupils: “You have to be critical in your life, do not trust anybody!”

  3. Above all, the “ideal” teacher should combine the two elemental skills of curiosity and a spontaneous teaching way. Curiosity is important, because even a teacher never finishes learning, he/she should be able to learn new things from his/her pupils. Furthermore, there are not many teachers who are ready to teach their courses in a spontaneous way, they just follow their programme, and they never deviate from it. But by deviating to topics which are interesting for both teacher and pupils, one can blow new life into the course, and that can make pupils forget that they are having an English lesson. If a teacher can combine these two skills, he is on the way to becoming an “ideal” teacher!

Hi

Ein paar kleine Änderungen:

Vielen Dank für die Hilfe! [bitte markier nächstes Mal deine Verbesserungen z.B. durch Großbuchstaben ]

Hallo,

schnell und daher ohne GewehrGewähr:

  1. Mr Whitson

(Mr ohne Punkt = British, mit Punkt Mr. = American, –
konsistent sein!)

has a very special teaching method: He invents
imaginary animals that never actually existed and according
to him had been wiped out. One such animal he made up was the
“cattywampus”.

(deine Zeiten fluktieren - entscheide dich ob Präsenz oder
Imperfekt)-

He explained to his pupils whilst he was passing
around the animal’s skull,

besser:
While passing around the animal’s skull, he explained to
his pupils

that no trace of the animal
remained. The pupils of Mr. Whitson’s science course took
notes and afterwards took a quiz

(wrote a test? – lediglich
um die Wiederholung von „took“ zu vermeiden

All the pupils in the class
failed, because they wrote things about an animal
which never
existed. Mr Whitson’s aim was to educate sceptical pupils.

(das würde heißen: er wollte nur skeptische Schüler haben,
er wollte aber, dass seine Schüler skeptisch würden), daher:
Mr W.'s aim was to teach his pupils to be sceptical.

  1. Mr. Whitson’s method might appear unfair, but it
    was an
efficient way to show young people that nobody is infallible
and that even a teacher can be wrong. The pupils developed
skills which w ould be useful in life. There is also another
advantage to this method: By letting his pupils fail, Mr.
Whitson could be sure that they would
    not forget this lesson of
scepticism. In conclusion , one can say that
    this method is
    much better,

oder: In conclusion, this method proves better,
because it involves the students more actively than simply

telling to them:
“You have to be critical in your life, don’t trust anybody!”

(es wurden einige Kommas entfernt)

  1. Above all, the “ideal” teacher should combine the two
basic skills of curiosity with a spontaneous
    teaching approach.
Curiosity is important because even a teacher never finishes
learning, he/she should be able to learn new things from
his/her pupils. Furthermore, there are not many teachers who
are ready to teach their courses

(I would prefer classes)

in a spontaneous way, they
just follow their routine
and they never deviate from it.
But by digressing and including topics
which are interesting to both
teacher and pupils, one can breathe new life into the

class , and

that can make pupils forget that they are sitting in an :English
lesson. If a teacher can combine these two skills, he is on
the right track to become an “ideal” teacher!

(ich persönlich würde nicht „pupil“ sondern „student“
nehmen).

Wie gesagt, das war auf die SChnelle.

Elke
