ich befinde mich zur Zeit im Bewerbungsprozess für ein Masterstudium im englischsprachigen Auland. Hierzu muss ich meinen Unterlagen einen Letter of Motivation beilegen.
Da ich zum Einen kein Muttersprachler in Englisch bin und zum Anderen das erste Mal einen solchen Brief verfassen sollte bitte ich Euch darum, meinen LoM durchzulesen und zu korrigieren, da ich diesen demnächst einschicken muss.

Dear Madam or Sir:
I hereby wish to state my interest for a place in your Master *** and Master of ***.
I am convinced that the programme corresponds well with my future plans of seeking a career in an international company. It is my dream and ambition to be admitted and pursue my post-graduate studies in the field of *** in order to develop a career that leads to working across the world.
My desire to study in the particular field, reflects my interest in global economic issues and especially how these affect not only the world balance and the correlation of power among nations but also the competitiveness of smaller in scale companies and the everyday life of ordinary people.
My educational background is quite diverse. I spent my last three years at the *** Business School, and have successfully finished my Bachelor studies in International Business. I am now working on my Bachelor thesis, which will be submitted to the examination office at the end of August 2006. My choices of majors reflected the diversity of my interests – Financial Management and Media Management.
In 2005 I spent a semester abroad at the *** University, ***. The subjects I took were: Accounting and Financial Statements, Organizational Networks and Entrepreneurship, Retailing, SME Marketing and International Business Strategy. The excellent quality of both Universities, as well as helpful teachers and friends, have contributed immensely to my success.
My studies have guided me through systematic researching, analytical thinking and information evaluation but most of all, they provided me with deeper insight into international economic issues and, demonstrated their impact on real business. During my undergraduate studies I had the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of elective courses ranging from European taxation and business law to portfolio management and media technology.
During my studies I was involved in many social activities such as being:
• a founder and active member of a project team to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities headquarter in ***,
• a member of the *** Business School company council and the event committee students’clubbing,
• a founder and webmaster of the ***-Inside students internet platform,
• a students speaker deputy,
• a foreign students adviser,
• a member of the *** community,
• a member of a tennis club and
• a ski-racer in a ski team.
I am of the opinion that any academic knowledge gained should be applied and utilized through work experience. Therefore I would like to mention that during my undergraduate studies I had the opportunity to practice and complement my knowledge by making internships in different fields such as accounting, marketing and asset management in ***, *** and ***. Furthermore, I was a working student in the *** office of an international *** manufacturer for half a year.
I aspire to work for an international consulting firm. This is why I believe that an Master of *** and Master of *** degree at The University of *** would be the perfect course for me.
There are three specific reasons why I want to study at The University of ***, ***. First, I wish to receive a high-quality degree. Second, I hope to take full advantage of one of the leading Australian University in order to excel at my studies. Third, I desire to once again experience multicultural exposure and dynamic learning environment. I’m aware that generally, International Business studies is as a degree which develops many skills and covers facts that are valued and relevant in many walks of life. Whichever route I decide to take, I can be sure that the study will equip me with the necessary skills to continue to acquire new knowledge and understanding throughout my entire working life. I believe that the combination of my past experiences and academic knowledge will qualify me as an University of *** student candidate, and furthermore will prepare me to achieve my career goals in the future. Learning is what I do best, and in *** I will have the perfect opportunity to excel at it.
