Outlook98 & Windows98SE. Seltsame Fehlermeldung

Hallo liebe Experten,

ich habe vor Kurzem Windows 98 installiert. Seitdem erscheint immer wenn ich Outlook 98 (Englische Version) öffne die Fehlermeldung:

„sfdtp2v3 failure. can’t open physical communication port.“

Diese Meldung kann man wegklicken und normal weiterarbeiten. Nach einiger Zeit kommt sie allerdings wieder. Unter Windows 95 lief alles fehlerfrei. Wer kann helfen.

PS: Ich habe vor ein paar Tagen eine ähnliche Anfrage an das Windows 98 Brett geschickt, aber dort konnte mir bislang niemand helfen. Ich frage hier noch mal nach, weil es sich durchaus um einen Outlook Fehler handeln kann und nicht umbedingt um einen Windows 98 Fehler.

Eine Suchmaschine hat folgendes ausgespuckt:

Something else maybe using the same settings as the Generic Ir Port Check under Device Manager for any IRQ or I/O conflicts. At first I couldn’t use Datasuite via Ir at the same time as I was using, or had just used, my modem. I got this error message, until I juggled the IRQs. Another reason for this message is the wrong port, or no port under „UserPortIR“ in the registry. Installing PC Composer after Datasuite can cause this message as PC Composer can alter the „UseIr“ setting back to „00“

To check for conflicts do the following:

  1. Open Control Panel-System
  2. Click the Device Manager tab, and click Properties
  3. Check, if there are devices with the same IRQ as your Ir port.
  4. Close Computer Properties, and locate the conflicting device from the Device Manager.
  5. Double click the device (or click properties), and click the Resources tab.
  6. Clear the „Use automatic settings“ check box. Then choose a configuration (Basic Configuration xxxx) that has a different IRQ, and doesn’t have any other (I/O Range) conflicts.
  7. Windows warns you for using manual configuration settings, but ignore this warning by clicking Yes.
  8. A reboot might be required before starting Data Suite.

Schau doch mal nach Hardwarekonflikten.
