ich möchte bei Pegasus V4.12a im Einplatz-Modus einen weiteren Benutzer einrichten. Muss ich dafür das komplette Programm deinstallieren und im mehrere-Nutzer-Modus neu installieren? Oder gibt es einen anderen Weg?

ja gibt es.
Zuerst aber: Du hast nich zufaellig schon eine Mehrbenutzerinstallation? Dann koenntest Du ueber Adressen-Benutzerverwaltung einfach einen neuen benutzer anlegen.
Wenn das nicht geht ist der Weg etwas laenger, ich poste hier mal ein Posting aus der Mailingliste:
(Vorher sollest Du das Verzeichnis „Mail“ im Pegasus Verzeichnis einmal sichern, dann ahst Du im Zweifelsfall Deine Mails und Einstellungen noch)

1: Go to the MSDOS prompt and create a directory for your current
mail files and username. I assume you are using a username of
SRP.
MD c:\pmail\mail\SRP
(Das laesst sich natuerlich auch im Explorer / Arbeitsplatz machen)
2: Move your current mail files from the c:\pmail\mail directory
to the c:\pmail\mail\SRP directory.
MOVE c:\pmail\mail\*.\* c:\pmail\mail\SRP
3: Edit your pmail.ini file and change all instances of
c:\pmail\mail to c:\pmail\mail\SRP. If you have saved your
username in win.ini, edit the win.ini file and remove the
username line.
4: Delete the file c:\pmail\pmail.cfg. This will remove your
current configuration and force WinPmail to go the install
process.
5: Double click on the WinPmail icon. Since the pmail.cfg is
missing, this will cause WinPmail to go through the install
process. Select the multiuser option.
6: You will be asked to about the users. Add the username SRP
and any other users you wish. Make sure you give
administrator privileges to at least one username so you will
be able to administer to users. Select close.
7: You will be asked to select a username, use SRP. This
should now open WinPmail using you old mail information. You
will now have an additional menu item under Address that will
allow you to administer your users from WinPmail.

… das ist ja eine mehr als komplizierte Angelegenheit. Da ist ja Deinstallieren und neu starten glatt einfacher… Okay, ich glaube, ich bleibe vorerst einfach bei meinen Identitäten und nehme mir das im nächsten Urlaub mal vor. Danke!!

auf jeden fall sollest Du das Verzeichnis „mail“ sichern - und nach der Mehr-Benutzer-Installation den Inhalt komplett in das dann neu angelegte Verzeichnis username/mail kopieren, dann bleiben Mails und Einstellungen (glaube ich) erhalten.
