ich muss eine winzigkurze Übersetzung machen, leider juristisch, was nicht mein Fachgebiet ist (jaja,
ich sollte die Finger davon lassen, ich weiss). Nun, ich hab keine Ahnung, wie ich ‚wenn der Mandant
nochmals strafrechtlich auffällt…‘ übersetzen soll.
Da ‚strafrechtlich auffallen‘ aber Amtsdeutsch / legalese für etwas recht einfaches ist, dachte ich,
vielleicht könnte mir hier jemand von euch eine Alternative auf Deutsch bieten!?
(von mir aus auch gleich auf Englisch, aber dazu bin ich zugegebenermassen im falschen Brett).

Zeit im Englischen hinkriege). Ich habe mich jetzt mit mir auf ‚should your client come to the attention
of the police…‘ geeinigt. Reicht das für ‚strafrechtlich auffallen‘? Also, entspricht das diesem Ausdruck
genügend? Wenn ja, wäre das Problem geklärt.

würde ich jetzt dies hier schreiben:
should your client in future come to the attention of the police under such aspects relevant to criminal
law, …
It’s a mouthful…

Well, yes, I do mean that - why can’t they just say that in German? I suppose the difference is:
- breaking the law, and:
- being caught by the police when you break the law
and that’s why they write ‚strafrechtlich AUFFALLEN‘
which means I’m currently still happier with ‚coming to the attention of the police‘.
I could say ‚if your client is caught breaking the law again‘
but that’s to colloquial, really.
So? What shall I do???

Nicht unbedingt. Ein Verkehrsdelikt beispielsweise würde dem Betreffenden zwar die Aufmerksamkeit der Polizei sichern, wäre aber nicht unbedingt kriminell, sondern evtl. nur eine Ordnungswidrigkeit.

Thanks, I’ll stick with that. I mean, it’s clear from the context what coming to the attention of the police
means - although just inferring things may not be entirely correct in the legal sense…
