Ich musste auf die Schnelle fuer eine Freundin etwas mir fachfremdes uebersetzen, kann mal jemand kurz pruefen, ob das einigermassen richtig ist?
(Hoffentlich wird das nicht zu peinlich :smile: )

Zu Beginn erhält jeder Anwender, der das Programm auf seinem Rechner installiert, 100 Moleküle über das Internet zugeschickt, zusammen mit einem Medikamenten-Design-Programm mit Namen Think und einem Protein-Modell, von dem bekannt ist, das es an der Entstehung von Krebs beteiligt ist.

Think untersucht dabei die Moleküle auf ihr anti-kanzerogenes Potenzial, indem es dreidimensionale Computermodelle der Moleküle erstellt und die Interaktionen mit dem Protein austestet.

Interagiert ein Molekül positiv mit dem Protein, dann registriert das Programm diesen Treffer und wird für die weitere Erforschung per Internet zurück an einen zentralen Server geschickt.
In der ersten Phase suchen die Forscher zunächst nach Molekülen, die die Bildung jener Enzyme unterdrücken könnten, die das Wachstum neuer Blutbahnen zu Tumoren anregen [*das verstehe ich nicht genau, wachsen Blutbahnen in Richtung Tumor oder werden Blutbahnen zu Tumoren? Hm, mal im Bio-Brett fragen*], und die gegen jene Proteine wirken, die für das Zellwachstum und Zellschäden verantwortlich sind.

Nach und Nach sollen aber neue Untersuchungen dem Projekt hinzugefügt werden.

constructing a three-dimensional computermodel and testing the interaction with the protein.

Interacts the molecule positiv with the protein, the programm registers this hit and sends it back to the server by internet for additional examination.

During the first phase the scientist are searching for molecules, which can suppress the formation of enzymes that energize the growth of new boodstreams into tumors, and molecules effective against proteins which are responsible for cell growth and cell damage.

Gradually new researches should be added to the project.

Participants in the Intel-United Devices Cancer Research Project are sent a unit of molecules over the Internet. Their PC will analyze the molecules using drug-design software called THINK. The THINK software analyzes the molecular data by creating a three-dimensional model and changing its shape (or conformation) to attempt to dock it into a protein site. When a conformation docks successfully and triggers an interaction with the protein, it registers as a „hit“. These hits are what this research hinges on. Any one hit may be the one that will ultimately lead to a cure. All hits are recorded, ranked as to strength, and filed for the next stage of the project.

At the beginning every user, who has installed the program on his computer, receives 100 molecules via internet, together with a design program for medicines named „Think“ and a model of a protein known for its connection in the emergence of cancer.

“Think” thus examines the molecule’s anti-carcinogenic potential by creating three- dimensional computer models of these molecules and testing their interactions with the protein.

If the molecule interacts positively with the protein, the programme will register this hit and send the information back to a central server for further investigation.

During the first phase the researchers are looking for molecules which could suppress the development of such enzymes that activate the growth of new blood vessels towards tumours (I have the same problem here with understanding the original) and who affect those proteins responsible for cell growth and cell damage adversely.

Though gradually new studies should be added to the project.
