USB 1.0/1.1 für THINKPAD T500?

Hallo.

Ich habe mir vor einiger Zeit einen Canon IP5300 gekauft - da gingen die Probleme los. Der Drucker sollte an einem Desktop-Rechner laufen, tat dies aber zwei Monate nicht, da der Drucker von Windows XP nur als ,unbekanntes USB-Gerät’ erkannt wurde. An dem Rechner meines Vaters ging der Drucker auch erst nicht, bis ich ihn an eine alte PCI-USB-Erweiterungskarte gestekct habe - er wurde erkannt. Sämtliche andere Tipps und Empfehlungen aus vielen Foren haben bei mir nicht funktioniert, nur der Anschluss über USB1.0/1.1 funktionierte.

Nun wurde der Rechner verkauft, dasselbe Problem an meinem Thinkpad T500. Der Drucker funktioniert über Ubuntu einwandfrei, nur die CD-Druckfunktion kann leider nur über Windows angesteuert werden. Nun meine Frage: Es gibt doch zusätzliche Karten, die angeschlossen werden können - wenn ich eine alte USB-Karte anschließen könnte, würde mein Windows sicherlich auch den Drucker wieder erkennen.

Nun habe ich von diesen Karten keine Ahnung - geht das überhaupt, an diesem recht neuen Notebook eine so alte Erweiterungskarte anzuschließen?

Irgendwas grosses machst du falsch. Es gibt nichts im USB 2.0 Protokol was einen neueren Drucker so töten sollte. Sagt der Hersteller irgendwas zu dem Problem?

Nun meine Frage: Es gibt doch

eine alte USB-Karte anschließen könnte, würde mein Windows
sicherlich auch den Drucker wieder erkennen.

1.0/1.1 Karten gibt es höchstwahrscheinlich keine für den ExpressCard Slot. Aber du könntest es mit einem 1.1’er USB Hub zwischen Notebook und Drucker versuchen.

Und schalt die Autoupdate Funktion der Lenovo Software ab. Das aktuelle Update beinhaltet Ad/Spamware: http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=…

Ja, das sagt sich so leicht: Irgendwas grosses machst du falsch.

Mit dem Standart-Installationsprogramm wird der Drucker nicht erkannt, manuell kann der Anschluss nicht ausgewählt werden, da nur klassische Anschlüsse aufgeführt werden (LPT…). Neuere Treiber von Canon schaffen keine Abhilfe. Den Treiber im Hardware-Manager zu aktualisieren geht nicht, da der richtige Treiber nicht als richtiger Treiber akzeptiert wird. Wenn das ,unbekannte USB-Gerät’ deinstalliert wird, passiert dasselbe beim Wiederanstellen des Druckers - ein unbekanntes USB-Gerät wird gefunden, der Treiber wird nicht akzeptiert, das Gerät wird im Gerätemanager unter USB-Geräte aufgeführt.

Ich habe wirklich zwei Monate alle Möglichkeiten durchprobiert, die so angeboten wurden, es hat nichts genutzt. Der Canon-Service stellt so tolle Fragen wie: Ist das Kabel richtig angeschlossen? - Wenn ich dann sagte: „Ja, ist es“, war die Antwort: „Ok, wir verbinden Sie weiter“ und so wurde ich von A nach B weitergeleitet und von B nach C…

Eigentlich stelle ich mich, was Elektronik betrifft, nicht doof an…

Deine Idee mit dem Hub ist sicher leichter zu realisieren, als die Idee mit Karte - merci. Wenn du noch einen Tipp hast, den ich noch nicht ausprobiert habe, dann immer raus damit!

Ich habe 2 Schüsse ins Blaue anzubieten:

Du hast den Drucker zuerst angesteckt und erst danach den Treiber installiert. Dann sollte es helfen den Drucker abzuklemmen, den Treiber zu deinstallieren, neu zu installieren und dann den Drucker an einen anderen USB-Port zu hängen. Einen an dem er noch nie hing.

Oder:

die USB-ID des Drucker ist falsch. Was sagt „lsusb -v“ unter Ubuntu zu dem Teil?

Also die erste Variante ändert nichts an der Problematik - an allen USB’s das gleiche.

Bei der zweiten Variante weiß ich nicht, wie ich sie durchführe:
–>Terminal–>Root–>Iusb -v? - so dachte ich, wie es gemeint ist.
„command not found“ - anscheinend ist diese Annahme aber falsch.
Wo gebe ich den Befehl ein?
