könnte es sein, daß „tax“ nicht nur für „Steuer“ sondern auch für (Pflicht)Beiträge im allgemeinen steht? Hat jemand von Euch mit Verwaltungsenglisch zu tun?

Verwende ‚tax‘ lieber nur dann, wenn Du Dich direkt auf Steuern (jegliche Steuerart) oder Zoelle beziehst. Allgemein kannst Du es nur verwenden, wenn es im steuerlichen Rahmen bleibt. Sonst wuerde ich lieber versuchen, irgendwie ersatzweise die Begriffe ‚levy‘ oder ‚duty‘ zu verwenden.
Hat jemand von Euch mit Verwaltungsenglisch zu tun?

Die Verwendung von „tax“ hängt vom Kontext ab: z.B…" that women’s behaviour took a tax on his personal life…" In diesem Sinn gibt es noch weitere Anwendungen.

to tax kann auch im Sinne von „beschuldigen“ gebraucht werden.
Aber grundsätzlich hat es mit Staatsabgaben zu tun.

zum Beispiel werden die Sozialabgaben als Social Security Tax bezeichnet.

nur noch mal so…ist sicherlich alles gut und richtig, was hier so steht. Wenn ich mir allerdings selbst auf das „Maul“ schaue, dann verwende ich das Wort „tax“ ausserhalb des direkten steuerlichen Bezuges vielleicht ein einziges Mal per Jahr.
