Windows 7 not Genuine Message

Well after some Weeks of using Windows 7 with the Version that was installed on my Recovery DVD, I received a message that said my Copy would be not genuine.

I had to go through a Martyrdom of typing the original Product Key and sending it to MS and then I had to call some weird Telephone Number and then I had to type lots of Numbers the recorded announcement-lady told me to until Windows finally started without asking me to get Genuine at startup and persistently switching the Background Picture to a Black Screen and „This Copy of Windows is not genuine“ message.

And so… WHat did I do wrong? WHat can I do to prevent this stuff from happening again?

hey,

And so… WHat did I do wrong?

Well basicly you tried to register the „new“ installation while you where registered already.

The same will happen if you change too much of your hardware.

You did nothing wrong. It is part of MS´s copy protection.

Kann es sein, daß Du nicht „registriert“, sondern „activated“ meinst? Windows 7 braucht nämlich gar nicht registriert zu sein. Eine Aktivierung reicht vollkommen aus - und eine solche funzt auch ohne Registrierung.
