Hello!
I have bought a WISI OR 254 DVB-C receiver today to see the HDTV cable signal programs of the local cable company. I deployed the cable that was connected to the SAMSUNG HDTV to the RF Digital IN plug numbered „9“ on page 6 of the manual. I connected the HDMI cable to the HDMI jack numbered „6“ in the same manual (http://www.wisi.at/downloads/BDA_OR254.pdf). Then, I plugged in the power cable.
The DVB-C receiver showed a red LED and when I pressed the ON button of the remote control, first, a „boot“ appeared. After 10 seconds or so, „Init“ appeared. According to the same manual, a welcome menu should appear.
Interestingly, it is not possible to command the device by the remote control: if you press the ON/OFF button, nothing happens. All other buttons do not change anything.
There are only three buttons on the device front: the ON/OFF button and a channel button with „CH+“ on the top and the „CH-“ on the button. The red LED shows that the device is in the standby. When you now press the larger button on the top, i.e. on „CH+“, the device turns on. The red LED goes off and for about six seconds, „boot“ appears. The, the text disappears, the red LED blinks for a fraction of a second once, and then for a very short time, „Das Erste“ appears. This is only for about 100 ms, followed by „Init“. After this state is reached, it is not possible to shut the receiver off: the OFF button does not change anything. Also, the CH+/- does not change.
To come back to the initial red LED, you have to unplug the device, wait for a few seconds and plug it again.
Question
What do you think is the reason for this behaviour?
Thanks for your replies!
