Wer kann mir dies übersetzen? Ich puzzle schon die ganze Zeit an der richtigen Übertragung ins Deutsche.

Mein Vorschlag:
Der christliche Glaube wurde nicht erprobt und (daraufhin) fuer unzureichend befunden, er wurde als muehsam (evtl. auch kompliziert) und unerprobt erachtet.
Den letzten Teil des Satzes koennte man evtl. aber auch so uebersetzen: … er wurde als muehsam befunden und (daher) nicht erprobt.
Inhaltlich wuerde wohl eher der zweite Ansatz passen.

Scheint mir unter Berücksichtigung des Kontexts auch plausibler:

OK, mit dem Semikolon ist es relativ eindeutig und dann macht nur die zweite Uebersetzung Sinn.
