Hallo,
ich habe zwei DVD-Laufwerke unterschiedlicher Hersteller in meinem PC, einmal einen DVD-Brenner und dann ein einfaches DVD-Laufwerk.
Weder Suse 10.2 noch Ubuntu oder eine andere Distri haben das einfache DVD-LW erkannt. Bei Suse wird es folglich z. B. im Arbeitsplatz auch nicht angezeigt.
Was kann ich da tun ?

Auch hallo.
Vorausgesetzt, die Laufwerke sind richtig eingestellt (IDE-Jumper geeignet auf Master/Slave setzen und via BIOS erkennen lassen), kann man die Erkennung und das Setzen eines Mountpoints über YAST2 laufen lassen.

Die letzten beiden Zeilen sind wohl von der Verknüpfung vom DVD-Brenner, aber das DVD-ROM fehlt wohl.

Sind doch beide da und erkannt.
Probing IDE interface ide1…
hdc: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive —> DVDBRENNER(von LG)
hdd: DV-516E, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive ------> DVD-ROM
Probier mal das fehlende DVD-ROM von hand zu mounten.
Leg aber vorher mal eine Cd oder DVD ins Laufwerk.
Root konsole dann #>mount /dev/hdd /mnt und schau in /mnt ob der Inhalt der CD da ist.
Wenn das geht solltest du das DVD-ROM in deine /etc/fstab eintragen damit es automatisch gemountet wird.
Dort sollte schon ein Eintrag für den DVD-Brenner vorhanden sein an dem du dich
orientieren kannst.

danke für die Antwort.
Wenn das geht solltest du das DVD-ROM in deine /etc/fstab
eintragen damit es automatisch gemountet wird.
Da ist kein Eintrag, ich habe es schon mit einer Verknüpfung auf dem Desktop versucht (hdd) und bekam die Meldung, „kein Eintrag in der /etc/fstab/ vorhanden“.
Mit Linux kann man sich ja lange beschäftigen, ist aber viel interessanter als Windows.
