ich habe vor Jahren mal bei jemandem eine CD von/oder auch mit Ella Fitzgerald gehört, eine Liveaufnahme… Sie sang unter anderem „How high the moon“, vergaß dann aber wohl den Text und hat hervorragend improvisiert, a la „I don’t no the text of the song anymore but it’s something to do with the moon“. Ganz genial! Jetzt würde ich gerne wissen, auf welchem Album das drauf ist!!!

ich gehe davon aus, dass du Ella in Berlin * von 1960 meinst. Allerdings vergisst sie den Text – wenn ich mich recht erinnere – nicht bei How High the Moon, sondern bei Mack the Knife. Diese Stelle in der Amazon.de-Hörprobe leider nicht enthalten.

das mit berlin und mack the knife mag stimmen, sie hat aber bei how high the moon definitiv auch mal textprobleme gehabt.

laut der englischen wikipedia hat sie das lied 1947 aufgenommen (siehe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ella_Fitzgerald), aber das sagt über die liveaufnahme nicht so viel aus. meine vermutung ist, daß sie nach der studioaufnahme etwas textsicherer hätte sein müssen…
noch ein hinweis: ich habe eine platte von sarah vaughan, die auf einer aufnahme aus dem jahr 1957 how high the moon mit folgendem text singt:
