Fairerweise müsstest du dein erstes Beispiel eigentlich
rausnehmen, weil da eben nicht „information and evidence“ das
Subjekt des (Neben)Satzes ist, sondern „portion“. Auf Deutsch
wäre das dann ein Genitivattribut, wie das auf Englisch genau
heißt weiß ich leider nicht. In diesem Fall stellt sich die
Frage nach Singular oder Plural ja gar nicht erst.
Nunja, nicht unbedingt. Wenn ich das Verb „is“ im Satz markiert hätte, dann ja, aber der springende Punkt war im Satz das Demonstrativpronomen that , das im Singular steht. Und ich habe mal nicht angenommen, dass sich „that“ vllt. nur auf „information“ bezieht, sonder eher auf beide: that {information and evidence}.
Daher taugt mein Beispiel eigentlich doch.
…the Secretary shall indicate which portion of that
information and evidence, if any, is to be provided by the
claimant… (AE) → singular
(das Subjekt ist eigentlich nicht nur portion sondern komplett which portion of that information and evidence, also das ganze Ding)
