Englische Zeitformen & Grammatik

Liebe/-r Experte/-in,
LG Janine

  1. Frage: What would you have done if you had given the task to introduce the euro as a paying currency?

If I had been asked to promote the introduction of the euro I would certainly have used the media to spread information and knowledge about the euro and its advantages. Therefore, I would have established certain campaigns addressing different groups of people. For example, tourists might have been interested in the fact that prices are easier to compare and that they don´t have to worry about getting their money changed. Furthermore, I would like to have pointed out that the euro as a single currency allows for a better trade across the EU borders.
If I had been given the above-mentioned task, my core statement would have been that the euro provides several economic advantages to both the companies and citizen of the European Union.

  1. Frage: What would you do to reduce unemployment?

Here are some of my ideas to reduce unemployment that may be worth considering. In my opinion, the government should focus on improving incentives (e.g. subsidies, loans) for companies that are either willing to expand employment in high unemployment areas or for those that take on long-term jobless on a regular basis.
Furthermore, the importance of a good innovation strategy should be taken more seriously by the government. I think this would be a crucial first step to increase economic growth eventually leading to lower unemployment.Sometimes jobs may exist but people are simply not aware of the availability of such jobs or they do not suit them due to a lack of education. Therefore, the government should provide unemployed people with all the necessary skills that will give them a better chance of taking the jobs.

Es heißt: „What would you have done if you had given the task“ und muss heißen: „What would you have done if you had been given the task“.

„had been given“

Liebe Liliana,
